Mrs. Valli Arun Inducted To GoTN's Eyal Isai Nataka Manram

Mrs. Valli Arun, President of Valingro Group, Trustee of Tamil Isai Sangam & Executive Committee Member of SICCI has been inducted to the prestigious Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram. The Manram comes under the Tourism, Culture & Religious Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Mrs. Arun has been inducted into the Steering Committee as well as the Executive Committee of the Eyal Isai Nataka Manram. This appointment has been made considering Mrs. Valli Arun's strong interest in Classical Tamil Music & popularizing Tamil Nadu's traditional Dance & Arts Forms. The Government of Tamil Nadu had published information about Mrs. Valli Arun's induction in the enclosed G.O. (Ms) No. 159 under Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments (2) Department, dated Dec 1, 2020. The Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram was formerly known as Tamil Nadu Sangeet Nataka Sangam. It was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the year 1955 and renamed in the year 1973. The Manram carries out the objectives of the Government of India's Sangeet Natak Akademi at the State level and also for the development & fostering of traditional Tamil Arts. The Manram promotes research in the fields of music, dance, drama & films and to establish a library and a museum. The Manram co-operates with similar institutions for the furtherance of its objects and for the enrichment of Indian culture as a whole. It encourages the exchange of ideas between different regions in regards to the arts of music, dance, drama & films and establishment of theatre centres & institutions providing training in dramatic art and production of plays. The Manram revives & preserves folk dance & music in different regions of the State and publishes literature including reference works. It sponsors music, dance & film festivals in the State and awards prizes & distinctions. It assists when necessary to individual artistes of outstanding merit in respective fields. The Manram advises on matters referred to it by the Government of India or the State Government or by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. Mrs. Valli Arun has been the brain behind conceiving, designing, implementing & overseeing till date the "Thol Isai Kalanjiyam" - a Museum of Ancient Musical Instruments at the Tamil Isai Sangam, Raja Annamalai Mandram, Chennai. As honorary Trustee of the Tamil Isai Sangam, Mrs. Valli Arun has been passionate to conserve Tamil music, arts & culture for posterity.
